In December 2018, I held a workshop on the topic “Whose knowledge counts? Legitimacy of Big Data-driven politics” at the WZB Mercator Forum 2018.
The WZB Mercator Forum is a two-day science-policy transfer format at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), funded by Stiftung Mercator. The 2018 edition of the forum dealt with “Big Data 4 Policy – Experimental policy advice and -making with Big Data”.
My workshop was based on my book chapter “Vier wissenspolitische Herausforderungen einer datengetriebenen Verwaltung” and tried to foster discussion and interaction among the participants by having them come up with examples for the different knowledge political dynamics of Big Data in policymaking.
